Social Deal: merchandise with character
Social Deal had long been hoping for one thing: exclusive merchandise that truly reflects the brand. Not just standard items with a logo printed on them, but a collection with its own style, its own energy and enough appeal to actually be worn and used. Together with THG Creative Agency, Henk Schiffmacher and his daughter Morrison, Compacon was asked to help make that dream a reality. The result: an eye-catching merchandise collection in true Social Deal style, featuring clothing, a weekend bag and a range of other goodies.

From an idea on a beer mat to merchandise with a story behind it
Some projects don’t start with a detailed brief, but with a good conversation and an initial sketch. In this case, it even began on a beer mat in Henk Schiffmacher’s local pub. From that initial creative spark emerged a merchandise concept that brought together traditional craftsmanship and digital execution. Good old-fashioned design, translated into a collection that felt right down to the last detail.

A collection that feels like Social Deal
The strength lay in the custom design. Henk and Morrison Schiffmacher created an exclusive visual identity that perfectly matched Social Deal’s style. Compacon then translated that artwork into a wide range of merchandise. From clothing and weekend bags to attention-grabbing goodies: everything felt part of the same story. Not just individual products, but a merchandise range that employees are eager to choose from.
From a Christmas surprise to an onboarding moment
The collection was presented to staff in the week before Christmas 2023 as a special end-of-year gift. But the idea turned out to be more than just a festive gesture. From 2024 onwards, the merchandise even became a permanent feature of the onboarding process for new colleagues. When they start their new role, they are allowed to choose items worth up to €500. In this way, merchandise becomes not a one-off surprise, but a fixed part of the Social Deal experience.
Taking care of the online shop, stock and fulfilment
To ensure everything runs smoothly, a bespoke online shop was developed in collaboration with THG Creative Agency. New employees can use this to put together their own onboarding package from a wide selection of products. Compacon manages the stock and handles fulfillment. From order to dispatch: the process is designed to ensure that every new colleague receives their Social Deal items with ease.
Merchandise that brings brand loyalty to life
This case study demonstrates how merchandise can be more than just a nice little extra. With a strong creative concept, a recognisable design and a cleverly designed ordering process, it becomes a way to surprise employees, welcome new colleagues and bring brand culture to life. From the initial sketch to parcels on the doormat: Social Deal received merchandise that not only fits the brand, but also the people who make the brand every day.
